Instagram Of The Day!

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone has gotten through the past two days without to much coffee! Last night my favorite show came back on for the new season, Castle! I was super excited I got to see it without having to wait till a later time to watch. Not to much to say today, but yesterday when I did the Marie Claire magazine find I was thinking I may start doing that more often! Eventually I would love to get my followers here and on Instagram get involved too!

Today at work I dressed super laid back and went with a very casual rock look. I took out my olive green vest from Old Navy and paired it with a plain white top, my new jeans from Loft and my favorite pair of booties!

I added my old Lucky Brand necklace to it to match all the neutral colors I have going on. I love this vest for a number of reasons, but the main one is how versatile it is! You can literally wear this vest casual like I have laid out above, or you can throw an adorable black dress with booties with it and be ready for the night out! I've seen this vest at Banana Republic as well.

Jeans - Loft
Top - Loft
Shoes - DSW
Necklace - Lucky Brand
Vest - Old Navy

That's all today, just wanted to get this posted! Hope all is well with everyone!

Till next time,

Marie Claire Finds.

Monday, September 29, 2014

Happy National Coffee day! I hope you picked up a free cup of coffee from Dunkin! I know I did - iced mocha swirl! Now, I'm normally a Starbucks girl, but how could I pass up on a free coffee? I also picked up the newest issue of Marie Claire featuring Ariana Grande on the cover. I went through the whole magazine and picked out a bunch of items that are definitely on my wish list.

Not even 30 pages into the magazine I came across an article "What we love about October". I love October too, so I wanted to see what they loved about it! Number two on their list is a rose gold watch with a dark navy face made by Michael Kors. Now, I am a watch fanatic. I love watches, watches love me. End of story. So when a watch goes to a great cause, I must have it even more. For every watch that the company sells, the World Food Programme will donate 100 meals for hungry children in need. So as you're wearing your watch remember it's going to a great cause. The watch retails for $295, so if you're a MK fan you know his watches range from anything $170 and up.

Next on my list is a pair of black combat boots. I came across these shoes on page 102. They were in a cluster of other black boots for their "boot force" page. I picked these for a number of reasons. Out of all of the boots they had listed, they were the most appropriately priced. Number two, they looked more my style. The boots are priced at $34.95 and come in black, brown and burgundy. To be a little different I would defiantly go with the burgundy pair!

As I was looking through the magazine I came across the most perfect bag for the upcoming festival season. It's a fringe, studded bag from Nasty Gal. This bag is found on page 150, but unfortunately when I went to look for the bag on Nasty Gal's website, it was no where in site. So I came across the next best thing! This bag costs $58, while the other one costs only $48. So a ten dollar difference is not to bad! Check out the first three things I found below following the links underneath.

The next item is on the same page as the fringe bag (page 150). I am a sucker for statement necklaces. I used to think they were to preppy, and not my style, but I've come to realize there are so many different types out there, there is a necklace for everyone. As you get ready for a concert do not forget to pick this bad boy up! The necklace is found on Aldo's website and it is seen on an episode of Project Runway. It costs $25, but I believe it's well worth it. Add it with a pair of leather pants, the boots listed above and a white baggy T-shirt and you're ready to rock out!

Found on page 78 are a stack of adorable monogram white card. Monogram is becoming so popular now, you can really go anywhere and find cards, note pads, check lists that you can completely customize. I went onto the Sugar Paper website, looked around and had to close the page because I would be BROKE. The whole website is simply adorable, and is perfect for someone who runs their own company. By customizing your cards it becomes personal, and that goes along way. For six cards and six envelopes it costs $30. However, while looking around I saw cheaper options which are just as cute!

Last on my list of finds is actually something I already own. If you haven't been up to date with the health craze, they have these electronic bracelets that basically track your every move. They keep track of how many steps you take, which as a retail worker, tracking your steps is actually scary. I didn't realize how much I actually moved! It also tracks your sleep habits. It lets you know how long it takes you to fall asleep, and how long you're in a deep sleep for. You can read all about more that the Jawbone does on their website listed below!

This was definitely a scavenger hunt to find these things. As I was looking I noticed many things were out of price range for the average person. So I made it a challenge for myself to find something that meets everyone's budget. With the watch being the most expensive thing on the list, it does go towards a great cause, so I believe it's perfectly priced. I would love to do this again for next month's issue, or another magazine! Let me know how I did, and if you like any thing I picked out!

Till next time,

Closet Help

Sunday, September 28, 2014

I've seen this topic being talked about on multiple blogs, so I decided to go ahead and put my own personal touch to it. You walk into your closet and see what? A hot mess I'm sure, right? You've got a ton of clothes that you simply don't wear anymore, but you leave them in there just in case you ever get to wearing them.  I basically just described my closet to you, and I am not afraid to admit it! But, I am here to tell you how you can get your closet under control. Like me, if you've been working retail for a while, you know trends change constantly. So it is somewhat difficult to keep up with specific styles especially when you have ten million things to wear. I have come up with a list of items that you (and I) can look over and get back to basics. I added myself to this list because sometimes it’s totally not necessary to have so many different patterns when none of them will be in style next season. So below I created a little list that you can go through! Check it out!

Lets start with the tops. I strongly believe a closet should have plain white t-shirts, along with black and gray. With these three tops you can easily make tons of outfits with other things I have listed. Grab the white shirt, black jeans, jean jacket and a chunky scarf and you've got a perfect basic outfit in seconds. Feel like being trendy? Add the white shirt, black body con skirt along with the blazer and a statement necklace and you're ready for a night out with friends.

I came up with my own list because I realized that we, as fashionable women, don't need a ton of items in our closet for it to be "perfect". If you've got the basics covered, you have a pretty well set closet.

What are some must haves in your closet? I would love to hear from you, leave me a comment and let me know!

Till next time,

Shout out to DSW.

Thursday, September 25, 2014

Hi everyone - I apologize for not posting in over a month! I've been back and forth from Florida and New Jersey so I haven't had to much time to focus on blogging. But I am back, and I have lots of inspiration to feed off of. I can't believe that we are officially into fall! I've waited a very long time to bust out the combat boots and my other favorite shoes. Not that I don't love summer.. I just prefer fall fashion better! It's obviously much easier to layer once fall weather comes around. So I recently just did some splurging on some fall items, and came across a pair of shoes I literally had to have. I've been eyeing a pair of Sam Edelman's for a super long time, but I just never felt like I needed to drop $130.00 on a pair of booties. It's totally fine if you do, hey they're super cute why not right? But I'm one of those people that would rather spend that much money on tops and jeans (oops). So anyways, I was wandering around DSW and came across a pair of shoes from Vintage Crown. Now, I've purchased a pair of flats from this company, and was really satisfied with them. I have awful luck with finding shoes that fit my feet comfortably (If you know me, you know what I am talking about). So I rarely purchase shoes from brands I normally don't buy from. I tend to stick to Steve Madden shoes because their pricing for the most part is pretty good, and their shoes last. I've had the same pair of combat boots for almost four years, and they look the same as the first day I bought them. So it's always important finding a brand that you love, especially when you have trouble finding shoes. I like to stick to what I know.

So as soon as I saw these booties, I sort of had a fan girl moment. They are exactly what I have been looking for and look identical to the pair of Sam Edelman booties I've been dying for. Check out the pictures (I obviously took myself) below!

Today, I was literally a walking LOFT mannequin. I had my new cheetah top on, my favorite olive green utility jacket, and my curvy skinny jeans. I paired my gold Michael Kors watch with an Alex and Ani bracelet along with a long gold necklace from the LOFT as well.

One of these days when I am a successful, well known blogger I'll get someone to take pictures for me - but for now I will be my own photographer! Check out the comparisons below.
