Madewell vs Your Wallet

Monday, March 31, 2014

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all are having a nice cup of coffee while you're reading this! I am an huge shoe lover (who isn't), and I'm always looking for great deals when I'm finding shoes. These days not too many people are splurging on shoes when there are TONS  of other choices out there. So naturally you want to find the best deal for your money so you can obviously buy more!! I'll admit, I am a giant Madewell fanatic but sometimes their prices are a little to high for me. So I went out and scoped the Internet for something more realistic. Here are a few pairs that I found that are SUPER similar to some of Madewell's shoes!

Yay! Love these? So do I! I listed the prices so you can get a clear understanding of how much you're actually saving! Crazy right? Majority of these shoes are almost identical to Madewell's! The first two boots are from Macy's. With Macy's you can 9/10 times use a coupon too, so actually the first two may even be cheaper, nice! Like the Madewell shoes better? Go here and here! But if you're a fan of saving some cash like me, check out the shoes from Macy's right here and of course right here! I found similar black booties from Kohl's as well like the ones from Madewell, but they are about 3-4 inches in the heel. I actually own them, and they were so cheap I couldn't
resist buying them! You can find them here!

Since we are in the transitioning weather from winter to spring, I wanted to show you the booties because you can still get away with wearing them. Now on to the flats! I picked two of my favorite flats from Madewell and went onto Target to see what's in their inventory. Never underestimate Target! They've got some cute shoes! Now I'll be honest, I adore the flats with the straps but unfortunately they don't adore my feet. I've got wide feet so they don't really look well on me. But I see tons of girls wearing them, and I'm jealous! Now onto the cheetah flats.. my favorite! I actually own the ones from Target! I got them in the mail the other day. It took about a week. And honestly, I normally have a hard time with flats, but these are ridiculously comfortable. I was worried because they were so reasonably priced they would hurt.. but no way! I wore these for a good four hours of my shift at work the other day. Naturally, when you break in flats you get a few blisters here and there, I wont lie to you! And I did, but I also brought back up shoes so it wasn't that bad! I would highly recommend everyone has a pair of cheetah flats in their closet! They go with so much, and you can pair them with almost anything to give your outfit a little sass!

Find the Madewell flats here: Beatrice Ankle Strap & Sidewalk Skimmer
Find the Target flats here: Mossimo Ankle Flats & Cheetah Ballet Flats

I would love to do more of these comparing prices, it was so much fun finding similar shoes for a more reasonable price to help you guys! Let me know what you think & if you have any of these shoes! Happy shoe finding!

Till next time,
Sarah Anne

PS - Here's what I paired with my Cheetah flats from Target! xx

Spice up that T-Shirt!

Happy first week of Spring everyone! Happy to say that winter is finally over, I think myself and just about everyone else is happy about that. Spring means; flowers, enjoying that iced coffee, spring outfits, and no jackets! But I have to say, fall is most definitely my favorite season. What's yours? Use my poll to the left and let me know! Naturally, spring includes amazing items in stores, and of course I just had to get my hands on some stuff to make that transition from winter to fall for my closet. Even though today was only 45 degree's, it was totally acceptable to wear an adorable lace blazer I just had to get my hands on..

Everything I am wearing is from LOFT!! Yes, I love my job so much I literally wear it from head to toe! In this case, ankle, because my shoes are actually from DSW.

Look at the detail in that blazer! Way to cute, you can mix it with something dark for cool days, or something pale like this for those warmer days! This jacket is priced at $138.00, pricey yes, but most likely if you're an active Loft shopper you will have some coupons! It's most definitely worth investing in, this blazer is such a statement. You're bound to get tons of compliments! This adorable necklace is both classy and casual. With the rope string and the jewels, its a must have.

Spring also means allergies.. excuse the puffiness! LOL

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I'll be posting more this week, so keep a close look out!

Till next time,

Insta of the day!

Sunday, March 16, 2014

Sunday fun-day right? Of course when you have a perfect outfit! Today at work I paired my two essential pieces together and created a simple, yet fashionable outfit.

Top: White chambray top from Loft, size large
Bottoms: Curvy skinny jeans from Loft
Belt: Cheetah print belt from American Eagle
Shoes: From DSW
Watch: Micheal Kors
Necklace: Forever 21

I say essential pieces, because I strongly believe every girl needs a pair of skinny jeans and a white chambray top in her wardrobe. A white chambray top can be paired with so much stuff. From wearing it by itself, to putting a sweater or another top over it. You can find these at the Loft, Madewell, Gap and JCrew!

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, it went by so fast!

Till next time,

One Month Till California!

Thursday, March 13, 2014

Yup, you read that right! One month from now, I will be in sunny (hopefully) California! It's always been a dream of mine to visit there ever since I was in middle school. Something about the state just grabs my attention. The people, the atmosphere, is so different from where I am. Also, who doesn't love great weather practically everyday? We're going to LA, Venice Beach and Santa Monica. And I'm crossing my fingers I get to go to Disney Land! I'm super excited to see the walk of fame, I must take pictures of all the Beatles stars of course! Haven't really planned out anything else besides wandering and the beach! Any places we should definitely visit? Comment below, I would love to hear from you! Like I've said, I've never been so this whole trip will be an experience.. Especially the plane ride!

Anyways, I'll stop babbling.. I went shopping today to start looking for some clothes to wear! I started off in Free People because I had a gift card, so I bought an American flag scarf I've been dying for, for so long. Now it's finally mine, yay! It was $38, not bad I was actually expecting it to be a little more. I also bought an adorable leather band that says "Life whispers, listen close". I just thought it was appropriate for this upcoming trip.

I also made my way to Forever 21 and bought two necklaces, a tank, a hat and a maxi skirt. The total was $46. I plan on that being a day when it's really hot I can wear that outfit out and about.. And last I found myself in Madewell. Madewell is my new favorite store. Unfortunately though I don't make that much money to afford a ton of stuff, but when they are having sales you best bet you can find me there! I bought a plain white 3/4 sleeve shirt and a necklace. Both were 20% off which was a treat! I love going in there because the staff is so nice and is always up for a chat.

Here are two pictures I took of my new items! I love taking pictures of random things if you haven't noticed!

I call this picture my John Mayer look. I went to his concert over the summer and this is right up his style.

And here is a quick look of two of three necklaces I bought with the American flag scarf! I picked up Madewell's magazine, naturally.

Well that's all for today. Like I said, comment below if there is anywhere in California I should head too when I'm down there. Also, and tips on a long plane ride? Let me know!

Till next time,

Off day!

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Greetings everyone! I was fortunate to have off on this amazingly nice Tuesday! We haven't seen a day like this in ages, the warm sun felt so nice! I felt spoiled today, I even had my windows down! It was awesome and such a nice reminder that spring is right around the corner, I can't wait! Today, my mom and I headed up towards Flemington and stopped in the Loft there. Pretty much the same stuff as we have in the Village, but it's always nice to see how other stores are. We went to this great fish place called Blue Fish Grill. I've been there once before and got the Teriyaki salmon taco, and it's delish! If you are ever in that area I would highly recommend it!

Today's outfit was pretty simple, since it was so nice outside no need to layer up that much!

I went with a simple three quarter sleeve stripped shirt from Loft, along with a military style vest I got from Old Navy. I looked high and low for a vest like this. Many places had it in the winter I saw, but I wasn't too sure if I liked the way it looked. So I held off on buying it, but then I had a change of mind! Of course, it was nearly impossible to find one at this time. So I searched and searched till I came across Old Navy! It was only $20! It was originally $27 plus shipping, but with the discount it came out so reasonably cheap! First I got a size large, but it looked like I was going camping, so I got the medium instead and it fits just the way I wanted it too. My day off wouldn't be complete with my leggings and Steve Madden boots!

Here is a close up of some items I had paired with my outfit. My Micheal Kors watch, a Disney Alex and Ani charm, and a wrap bracelet from Lucky Brand. My necklace is also from Lucky! I just adore Lucky's accessories, I always find something I love there. Don't mind my nails, I haven't gotten around to do them lately! (Oops)

My sister and I made dinner tonight, and I found this amazing recipe from Pinterest which you can find right here! Here's a picture of how it turned out:

It was tasty and light. I've been dieting lately for spring and summer so this was a great dinner! All it really is, is lemon and other herbs with olive oil. Really quick and easy!

That's all for today guys, any recipes for dinner you guys can share with me? Let me know, and comment below!

Till next time,

Feelin' polka dots

Saturday, March 8, 2014

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday, hope you all have awesome plans for today and the rest of the weekend! Sorry I haven't been blogging much, just been working a lot this week! But it's okay, I'll be back to show you more of my outfits for this cold "spring" so far. Today I had work and we were having a style event. The whole store was 30% which was exciting, and everyone had to dress up in current styles!

Naturally, I am obsessed with polka dots right now. So I wore my chambray polka dotted shirt! The whole denim look is so in right now. Check out the Loft, and Madewell and you'll see they both have a whole line of Indigo items.

Here's a full picture of what I wore today! Everything I am wearing is from Loft, except my shoes! My chambray top is a size Large, and fits perfect. It's a little stiff but once you wear it for a while it loosens up.

My boots are from Steve Madden! I've had these for about four months now, and adore them! You've probably seen me wearing them in my other pictures!

Here is a close up of my necklace, also from Loft! It's a cute short necklace that pairs great with collard shirts.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day! How are your feelings towards the Indigo look? Comment below!
