Happy first official day of Football!

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Happy Football day everyone! Hope all of your teams are doing well, and if you're involved in Fantasy Football, you're racking up those points! Since football to me, means Fall, what's better than baking on a Sunday afternoon? I was on Pinterest of course and started to look for something I knew I had a lot of ingredients for. And I came across cone cupcakes! I've always wanted to make them so here was my chance!

Now, I have to worn you.. I'm not the best baker in this house, so they didn't come out "Pinterest Perfect". My mom had Betty Crocker "Shake 'N Pour" in the baking closet. I recommend having this item for a rainy day! All you need to do is add water and shake it! No eggs needed :)

After pouring them into the cones, I put them in the oven for about 22 minutes and at 350 degrees.

As you can see some of my cones were broken so they didn't look so pretty..

Dan was so happy he could model for this picture.. because that means he could eat this!

You can certainly put whatever you want on top, I just added some Halloween sprinkles since Halloween will be here before we know it! Yay! My advice:
-Make sure you have perfect cones, they look prettier.
-Don't fill them up to the top, they have to rise!
-Let them cool before you put the icing on top, mine melted and didn't hold it's height.
Other than that, this was fun to make, and tasted even better too.
Save this for a rainy day, or whenever you're bored!!
Till next time!

The best Energy drink around town - Verve!

Friday, September 6, 2013

You may have heard about this new craze that has been going on with an energy drink called Verve! Verve is not on the market to sell in stores, it's simply sold by social networking. I got the chance the other night to sit down at a friend's meeting about the drink. The company started in Arizona in the year 2004. Since then the company has reached a net worth of 250 million. This healthy alternative to regular energy drinks, like Red Bull and Starbucks, creates a new way for you to get that 1PM boost you need. There are four different types of Verve! drinks, the regular energy drink, the boost, zero sugar and low-carb shot. All the drinks are created with natural sugar, so there will be no crashing later for you! I had the chance to sample the regular energy drink, and I have to say I honestly felt good after drinking it. I didn't get that smack in the face caffeine rush that you normally get from coffee, and I didn't feel guilty drinking it either with all the less calories in it!!

Not only do they sell energy drinks, the company has created other healthy drinks. Like, Vemma! Vemma is a clinically studied, ultra-premium antioxidant supplement that provides your body with the vitamins, minerals and whole-food nutrients necessary for optimal health ( Why is this different from any other? Take a look at the yummy ingredients I found from their website, right here!

If it sounds like a mouth full to you- don't worry, all those ingredients are amazing for you, and will make you feel so much better about yourself and your health! Still not convinced it's different? Don't worry I have more stuff to show you! With a ton of awards under their belt, Vemma has also been shown on Dr. Oz, and several other magazines. Check out Dr. Oz's video here!
Now, you're probably wondering how do people their hands on this? Well, since it's not sold on the market, the company sells their products obviously from online, but also individual distributors. Not only is the company super into getting America healthy, but they're also really into help getting people financially stable.
I got the opportunity to listen on to a group meeting the other day. The kids that are involved in this company seem to have a positive mind set in life. It was so nice to see because in this day in age it seems like everyone is always focused on the negatives. The equation that the company came up with to help sell their items is something one would call the "Perfect Storm". The company does not spend millions of dollars a year on advertising, they simply think it's silly. With all the technology and social media these days, they got their hands on the simplest form of advertising. Social networking. The kids who are their "brand partners" don't go around door to door selling you these drinks, they simply bring it up in a casual conversation with friends, or people they've recently just met. The whole Six degrees of separation is a perfect example of how they make their money. I know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone different. Once they have people under their belt or on their team, they rack up points. The more people that are selling this item the more people are buying it!
From a young adults point of view, seeing the kids and seeing how passionate they are about this company makes me want to buy this product. Not only are the company's products great for you, you're supporting a kid who is following their dreams of being a young entrepreneur. Hopefully soon I can get in on the action again and go to another meeting!!
Till next time!

DIY - Shadow Memory Box!

Monday, September 2, 2013

Happy Labor Day everyone! So sorry I haven't written a blog post in a while, I recently was hired at the LOFT and have been working there a few hours a week! It's loads of fun, and everyone that I work with is super nice. I cannot wait to buy fall clothes there to show everyone what you can do with the different styles this year!

So, as always I was on Pinterest the other day. Now this summer I have traveled to some places and gone to many concerts, and for some reason I never throw away my tickets or my stubs. So I wanted to put them in a place where I know they will be safe and where I can see them to remember the places I have been! I looked around and there are many ideas you can go with, but one stuck with me the most! A shadow memory box! You can use these boxes to display so many items, they're so diverse! It was really easy to make and very cheap too. I bought the box at Michael's for $9.99 and I had a coupon so it came out to be $4.00! I had paint already in the house to paint it white. Take a look at the pictures below!!

You can really use whatever you want to decorate the inside of the box with, I just used whatever was in my house to go along with my British room theme!

I know a lot of people want there tickets in some sort of order, but I like the look of it all placed in the box like this!

Above, I made a collage of quotes I found on the Internet that inspire me!
The whole project literally took me a few hours to do. It was so cheap and easy! And now I have a great spot to put all my tickets in! You can put movie tickets, concerts, plane tickets in.. whatever you like! Even snapshots of some pictures from a Polaroid would look super cute as well! By putting this all together, really has inspired me more to go out and do more traveling! I hope in the future I can travel as much as I can, and you should too!
I promise I will start to blog more, I was just caught up in a few things! Hope you enjoy!
Till next time!
